Gluten Free Flour Taste Test

Judy Hevrdejs of the Chicago Tribune Newspaper published an article on taste testing gluten free flours. This article was also published in The Palm Beach Post on March 14, 2014.  The article ranked gluten free flours on a scale of 1 to 5 on taste, texture and flavor.  Below are the results and the link to the Chicago Tribune.

Betty Crocker Gluten Free All Purpose Rice Flour Blend Score: 5

Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Baking Flour Score: 3.3

Cup4Cup gluten Free Flour Score: 5.3

Glutino Gluten Free Pantry All Purpose Flour Score: 5.7

King Arthur Flour Gluten Free Multi Purpose Flour: 5

Namaste Foods Gluten Free Perfect Flour Blend Score: 3.7

Much to my surprise Betty Crocker has gluten free All Purpose Rice Flour Blend.  I have not seen any promotions for this product. This is quite disappointing.  Betty Crocker makes great tasting box gluten free products such as chocolate fudge cake, yellow cake, chocolate cookie and brownie mix.  I will look for this product in my local stores.

I have not used all of the products tested.  But I have tried both the King Arthur and Glutino flours.  The King Arthur flour is my favorite of the two.  I have also included photos of these products to help you identify them in stores.
