Despite popular belief, participating in a support group does not make you weak. In fact, it makes you stronger. It helps one to grow. It allows the sharing and exchanging of ideas, knowledge and resources. When we realize that we are one of many and not the only one, we feel empowered, safe and gain the confidence to express what makes us feel insecure (especially when it relates to food). There is a great benefit to having a support system. It provides emotional support and in the case of the Celiac Disease, Food Allergy & Intolerance support group, there is a greater understanding of food.
Let's all make a concerted effort in 2020 to gain a better understanding of the food that we eat. After all our relationship with food whether good or bad, happy or sad, healthy or unhealthy is one of the most important relationships that we will have in our lifetime. Here's to learning, laughing and loving in 2020. XOXOXOX Dawn
